President & Chief Executive Officer
Anthony Julien has a proven track record as an entrepreneur focusing on growth and innovation. He has previously built and sold several companies in the IT, media and distribution space. Since 2013, Anthony has focused exclusively on the mining industry. In his role as CEO, he will continue to grow Meridian’s multi-commodity strategy creating a diversified mining and metallurgical group focused on producing and selling minerals to a premium high-value market.
Chief Financial Officer
Jonathan Richards brings over a decade of resource-focused accounting and auditing experience to his role as CFO. He has accumulated extensive experience with TSX and Venture-listed companies, as well as numerous private companies all over the world. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in management studies with first-class honours from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Chief Marketing Officer
Jason has a background in media having held senior positions in corporate communication and television. Before joining Meridian, he consulted for a select group of Australian companies, developing marketing and sales strategies targeting local and international markets.
Chief Operating Officer
Carlos Braga has held a number of senior positions in the Brazilian mining and fertiliser industries, specialising in strategic planning and implementation. Formerly a senior associate at AT Kearney, he moved to MBAC Fertiliser in 2009. As VP of Operations, he also managed new business development and coordinated the implementation of new policies and procedures as part of the process of listing the company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Carlos earned a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Sao Paulo University and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University NY.
Vice President Business Development
Mike Bennett has been sought after to manage numerous exploration projects across South America. He has worked as a Chief Geologist and Country Manager and in 2008 was responsible for overseeing mining and exploration projects with more than 100 employees in Brazil and Mexico for ECI. Mike has also held senior local government appointments in South America including as mayor of Porongo, Bolivia, President of the Municipal Association, Bolivia, and President of the Chamber of Mines in Santa Cruz. With more than 30 years of mining experience, he brings a wealth of practical experience and a deep understanding of South American culture.
Chief Geologist, Qualified Person
Adrian has over 20 years of experience in exploration, resource delineation and project generation roles for industrial minerals, gold and base metals. He currently leads a team of 13 geologists in a multi-commodity exploration program for Meridian which has confirmed a new style of hydrothermal manganese mineralization and identified a number of emerging gold and tin targets. Adrian holds a B.S.c. Hons, PhD from Monash is a fellow of AusIMM and is the qualified person for Meridian.

Barry Bolitho holds qualifications in both metallurgy and chemistry and has over 30 years of experience in the minerals industry. Over the last 15 years, he has held a number of executive management positions in the resource sector including board positions with both producing and exploration-stage companies. Barry has experience developing Feasibility Studies and project evaluations. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
President, CEO and Director
Mr. Julien is Chairman of Rio Madeira, CEO of Oregon Resource Corporation and President of Meridian Mining. He has started and sold various companies over the past 30 years; he sold his mobility software company to Epicor in 2009. In 2011, he joined SAP and focused on providing software solutions to major accounts in energy, mining and retail. Mr. Julien attended the University of New South Wales where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce – Economics and Japanese Studies.
Doug has more than 30 years of experience in both corporate finance and junior mining. He was previously the CFO of a Brazilian junior gold mining company overseeing operations and a debt-restructuring process as part of a new management team. Doug has Brazilian and Canadian citizenship and holds a Masters of Business Administration with a major in finance from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University and a Bachelor of Arts (History) from the University of British Columbia.
Peter Weidmann has over a decade of private equity experience as a fund investor and in direct co-investments, including several years with Macquarie Bank. He started his career at KPMG and Deutsche Bank, more recently having been an Investment Director with BTV Group in Munich. Peter is currently a Director with The Sentient Group. He has an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and an M.S. in Finance and Computer Science from the University of Mannheim in Germany.
Stefano Haver spent the first 8 years of his career at ABN AMRO Bank in Corporate Banking and ABN AMRO Capital in Private Equity. In 2007, he coordinated the spin-out of ABN AMRO’s Private Equity group into AAC Capital Partners and subsequently was Fund Operations Director of AAC. Stefano joined Orangefield in 2012 as Managing Director for the Fund Services department in Amsterdam and is currently responsible for the Private Equity Business Unit.
Angelina Mehta gained on-site technical and corporate financial experience with Rio Tinto’s subsidiary, Iron Ore Company of Canada, and in roles with BMO Financial Group in Toronto, and Lafarge and CN Railway in Montreal. Angelina is a part-time lecturer and member of the Advisory Board for McGill University’s Mining Program. She is a founding member of Women in Mining (WIM) Montreal and a member of CIM. Angelina earned a degree in Mining Engineering and an MBA from McGill University in Montreal.
